The 2027 Billabong Furnace Ultra introduces the innovative Gullwing chest zip entry, delivering exceptional flexibility and making it incredibly easy to get in and out of your wetsuit. Designed for surfers who demand high performance in cold water, the Furnace Ultra combines Billabong's advanced materials and construction technologies to deliver outstanding warmth, comfort, stretch and durability.
The standout feature is the Gullwing chest zip system, which creates a wide opening for easier entry and exit without compromising the secure fit of a traditional chest-zip wetsuit. Developed by Billabong's Takahiro Noguchi and refined over more than a decade, this innovative design offers the freedom of movement and convenience that demanding surfers need.
At its core, the Furnace Ultra uses OCENA+ natural rubber, an advanced neoprene-free foam that is 10% lighter and offers 15% more stretch than standard OCENA. Designed for warmth, flexibility and long-lasting performance, it provides a lightweight foundation for challenging surf conditions. Inside, Graphene Ultra and Graphene Pro thermal linings help retain body heat while maintaining flexibility. Graphene Ultra is Billabong's warmest thermal jersey to date, with independent laboratory testing showing a 26.6% increase in thermal retention and 20% longer heat retention.
The 2027 model also features Upcycler Airlite 4D across the upper body. This highly flexible, four-way stretch jersey is made from 100% post-consumer recycled textiles. Combined with the lightweight and durable Airlite II exterior, it allows natural movement while providing the durability needed for regular surf sessions.
Fully welded, stitchless seams complete the design, creating a strong, watertight seal without traditional needle holes. This construction enhances flexibility and helps minimise water entry, allowing unrestricted movement while paddling, duck diving and popping up on your board.
