The Lib Tech x Lost Rad Ripper is a modernized 80’s-inspired squash tail performance shortboard from Lost Surfboards. Part of Matt Biolos’ “Post Modern Retro” collection, the Rad Ripper blends nostalgic small-wave performance with cutting-edge updates for today’s surfers.
Designed for small to medium everyday surf, this board is fast, forgiving, and incredibly user-friendly — delivering retro fun with modern speed, lift, and control. Built in Lib Tech’s lightest and most responsive Techno Pop construction, the Rad Ripper captures that lively 80’s feel while offering unmatched durability and strength.
Designed by Matt Biolos
The Design
The Rad Ripper features a low entry rocker for easy paddling, early wave entry, and instant acceleration. Its forward foam distribution and wedge-style “beak” nose increase paddle power and drive while maintaining a playful, responsive feel.
The wide, planing squash tail provides exceptional lift and surface area for smaller waves, maintaining speed through flat sections. A healthy amount of tail rocker combined with an aggressive double concave through subtle V creates explosive lift and “squirt” under the back foot — giving the board a lively, powered-up feel in everyday surf.
