When Dane Reynolds revisited the original Dumpster Diver while filming Out of the Rafters, he was blown away by how incredibly short and compact it felt. The goal with the Dumpster Diver 2 was to elongate the design slightly and modernize the nose template while maintaining its signature speed and spark.
Britt Merrick carefully refined the details — widening the nose and tail, softening the single concave, and enhancing the rails for improved flow and hold. While the outline stays true to its roots, the overall feel is more balanced, more drivey, and more adaptable to a wider range of surfers.

The Happy Everyday features a wider nose and tail with more pronounced double concave and a pivot-driven feel. The Dumpster Diver 2, by comparison, has fuller rails, lower nose and tail rocker, and a more subtle concave — making it faster down the line with longer rail engagement and a smoother draw through turns.
